Heavy Legs

Iā€™m interested in creating new life and essence from overlooked and forgotten materials in my work. These collages piece together fragments of images and language that have been left behind and lost on the sidelines of day-to-day life. By introducing these different scraps and remnants to each other, the unexpected combinations of images and the contrast between them begins to produce some kind of emotion and feeling. Lending text to these collages also grounds the sporadic and contrasting images and tethers them to different themes and ideas, allowing people to find various interpretations, like comments on social issues, within the collages or project onto them their own personal meanings.
