Fungi
I came across Mercurius on Twitter and was impressed by what the magazine is doing, especially in terms of exploring the avant-garde in the age of climate change and capitalism in crisis, and dissolving the boundaries between current events, art and culture.
These visual poems sit on a line between facts and aesthetics. Factual statements about the natural world, in this case about a type of fungi, are cut up randomly, and the resultant prose mixed with photographic images. Then the composite is further fractured and abstracted. My visual poems draw on accidents, random configurations and repetitions that occur during the creative process.
