Emptiness

I’ve heard being myself makes me unbreakable. I am the one and only me. But who am I? When emptiness strikes, the power in being myself has gone. I turn to you.

Our Universe is expanding fast. There are more mysteries than questions solved. The biggest mystery is life itself. Who are we? What is the power that leaves us when we die? Where do we come from and where are we going? Does the soul exist and what is it?

All around the world people keep asking these questions: priests, medics, philosophers, artists, psychologists, meditators, quantum physicists...

Maybe we cannot yet capture the whole picture. Prior to microscopes, things too small for the naked eye remained invisible. To understand the purpose of life, perhaps we don’t need more scientific instruments, but another approach.

In Yogic philosophy, man is a small replica of the universe. It is said the answers are contained within, if only we dig deep enough. We ourselves are the instrument capable of deciphering the riddle of existence.

The same philosophy maintains that the universe, in its material manifested state, including humans, is only part of a larger existence. The whole is a vibrating absolute consciousness. Universal soul. To give birth to us and creation, slower and heavier vibrations derive and deviate from the absolute consciousness. Mind and matter have the densest vibration and we identify ourselves with them. However, we are neither body nor mind. Our soul is formed of a higher vibration and does not participate in the world.

Although divided, absolute consciousness remains present in man. Shakti, the cosmic energy, is dormant in the base of the spine. Shiva, the supreme consciousness, rests at the top of the head. The two, consciousness and energy, are constantly trying to reunite and re-experience the union from which we evolved. Feelings of emptiness come from this sense of separation.

With dormant energy on one side, and supreme consciousness on the other, the body’s like a battery with positive and negative poles at both ends. To generate power, the poles need to connect via a circuit. So we long for the experience of union, a flow of energy, fullness, inseparability. The peaceful ecstasy of enlightenment.

Maybe one day this circuit will complete and our vibration will reach a whole new level. Maybe we need more evolution for this to happen. The current human structures are not stable enough to sustain higher vibrations, which can burn us, like summer sun on winter skin.

To illuminate my own feelings of emptiness, I’ll try to explain who I am:

My blueprint is the Universe.
I was born in the Milky Way.
I belong to the Solar System.
I live on Planet Earth.
My home is Europe.
I breath inside my body.
My DNA contains my past and future.
I live between my dreams and heartbeats.
Your love has made me whole.
