Two Dudes with the Graveyard Blues

On one terribly hungover morning of 2015, Andrew Clarke and Thomas Helm stumbled their way to Montjuic Cemetery to serenade the dead. Rest in Peace, unknown friends.

Presented to the public for the first time by Mercurius Magazine.

The first song is Nick Drake's "Been Smoking Too Long".
The second song is Thomas Helm's "The Traveller"

The Traveller

I’ve seen so many places
Alone or with friendly faces
I’ve seen mountains, I’ve seen deserts
I’ve seen hell

I’ve broken bread with strangers
As a dark wind howled around us
And soldiers scoured the country
Searching for spies and traitors
On the basis of a memory

I’ve woken in the night
Alone and hungry
Reaching for a lover
Who I knew could never be there.
But I’m a traveller
What else could I have expected?

I’ve seen the summer willow tree
Where dancers beat their feet and cheer
By the rushing of factories
And black water

I’ve taken wine and water
From the rocky hand of paradise
The rocky hand of paradise
On Earth

I have tired of mysteries as I have tired of silence
As mysteries and silence tire of me
The thunderous momentum of creation
Bargaining such a strange salvation
Above the mouldy earth of many hearts and many dreams

I’ve knelt before the altar
Beside the ghost of my father
Trying to catch the words
He could no longer say:

‘Maybe you should resolve your purpose
Maybe then none of these moments will be in vain
None of these dreams will cause you pain’
